Just a brief note from us at this busy time of year because by now many of may have received a notice or heard about the 3 Medsafe ‘consultation’ documents and the meetings being held in the New Year to discuss them.
This is exactly what we have been expecting. We always knew the Government, despite not having the numbers in Parliament to turn this Trans Tasman agency proposal into law, would charge ahead as if they had already won.
The issuing of these papers does not mean that the TGA will come to NZ. It is simply an attempt to lull the industry into thinking this is the case. The fact remains that Labour does not have the ability to pass their plan into law. They seem to believe if they charge ahead then all the opposition will simply disappear. We, for one, will not let that happen.
As far as we are concerned, things are all going accordingly to plan. Labour and Medsafe are acting exactly as we thought they would and continue to try and bully the industry into going along with them.
We have temporarily stopped the direct email section of our web site in response to comments from the MP’s and to avoid this becoming stale and losing impact. We intend to re activate this facility when any legislation is introduced into Parliament. In the meantime you can continue to write or fax your MP yourselves if you wish and keep sending the postcards to your friends and colleagues. More crads can be ordered from www.nzht.co.nz
