It's time for another update about what has been happening in the fight to defeat
the proposed Trans Tasman Joint Agency to regulate all therapeutic products.
Well the first of our pre-election public meetings was held in Christchurch
last Tuesday and was a great success with well over 100 people attending. The
documentary "We Become Silent" was shown highlighting how this is a battle being
fought not just in NZ but around the world. We heard from NZ First's Barbara
Stewart and the Green's Sue Kedgley who both once again committed strongly to
voting against the Trans Tasman TGA proposal in any form. We are very grateful
for their continued unequivocal support for protecting health freedoms in New
Zealand.
As common at such gatherings the audience included a number of people who hadn't
been fully aware of the issues involved with the TGA proposal and the current
Codex threat and so as the position was explained a strong sense of needing
to do something to stop this t ake over. The NZ Health Trust described
how it is only through a public outcry that such attacks on health choices will
be defeated both here and around the world. The next meeting is tomorrow (Tuesday
23rd) in Wellington and a further meeting will be held in Auckland the following
week on Tuesday 30th. Details for both meetings are set out below. If
you are in either city we would encourage you to come along with your friends
and colleagues.
